Weight & diabetes health program

How to join Omada Health

Omada is a coaching program for weight, prediabetes, diabetes, and blood pressure - usually free through your employer or health plan. Here's the whole process in five simple steps.

  1. 1. Check if you're covered

Omada is usually offered at no cost through an employer, health plan, or benefits program. Start on the Omada join page and enter your employer or health plan to see if you qualify.

  2. 2. Apply online

Fill out a short application with your name, date of birth, and basic health details (height, weight, and any conditions like prediabetes, diabetes, or high blood pressure). It takes a few minutes.

  3. 3. Get your welcome kit

If you're accepted, Omada mails you a kit - typically a smart scale, and a glucose meter or blood pressure cuff depending on the program you join. No cost to you when your plan covers it.

  4. 4. Set up the app

Download the Omada app, sign in, and pair your devices. You'll be matched with a health coach and a small group of members starting around the same time.

  5. 5. Start your program

Weekly lessons, coach messages, and simple tracking. Keep filling your prescriptions with us and we'll keep your refills, delivery, and savings programs in sync with your goals.

Common questions

What do I need to join Omada?

Your employer or health plan must offer Omada, and you need to meet their health criteria - often a BMI in the overweight or obese range plus a risk factor such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or high blood pressure. You apply online and Omada confirms eligibility.

How much does Omada cost?

For most members whose employer or health plan sponsors the program, there is no cost. Omada confirms your cost, if any, during the online application.

Is 79th Street Pharmacy part of Omada?

No. Omada Health is a separate company and enrollment happens on Omada's own website. We share these steps because many of our patients use Omada alongside their medications, and we are happy to keep your prescriptions and delivery running smoothly while you take part.

Can I use Omada while taking a GLP-1 medication?

Many people do - the program focuses on food, movement, and habits, which pairs well with prescription treatment. Any decision about medication is between you and your prescriber.

Questions about your medications?

We can transfer your prescriptions, apply savings programs, and deliver free across NYC and NJ while you go through the program.
