Privacy Policy

Effective August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how 79th Street Pharmacy ("we," "us," "our") handles information collected through 79thstreetpharmacy.com. Health information we create or receive as your pharmacy is separately governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.

What we never collect through this website

We do not accept prescription details, diagnoses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, insurance member IDs, or payment card numbers through any form, chat, or email on this site. If a form appears to ask for that information, do not enter it - call us instead. All medication-specific conversations happen by phone or in person.

Information we do collect

  • Contact details you submit - name, phone number, email address, and your prescriber's name or office, submitted through the transfer request, contact, prescriber referral, or chat handoff forms.
  • Messages you type - the free-text content of a question you send us. Please keep health details out of it.
  • Technical and usage data - IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location derived from IP, collected automatically to operate and secure the site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies - used for site functionality, analytics, and, where enabled, advertising measurement.

How we use information

  • To respond to your question, callback request, or transfer request.
  • To coordinate with your prescriber's office at your request.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
  • To measure the performance of our advertising and content.
  • To comply with law, including pharmacy recordkeeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that requires an opt-out under applicable law.

Service providers

We use vetted third parties to run the site: website hosting and content delivery, email delivery for form notifications, analytics, and an AI assistant that powers the "Ask a Pharmacist" chat. These providers process information only to provide services to us. The chat assistant processes the text you type in order to generate a response; do not enter health information into it.

Advertising

We advertise our pharmacy services on search and social platforms. Those platforms may set cookies to measure ad performance. We do not provide them with health information, and we do not build audiences based on any health condition.

How long we keep information

Website inquiries and form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the request, generally up to 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law. Chat conversations stored in your own browser expire after 30 days and can be cleared at any time by clearing site data. Pharmacy records are retained per New York State law.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to inquiry email is limited to pharmacy staff who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, which is exactly why we keep sensitive health details off of web forms.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the contact information you submitted through this website, and you may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what we collect, the right to deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising a right. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through the site.

Third-party links

Our pages link to manufacturer savings programs, government resources, and other outside sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
